Step Up Your Shower Routine By Choosing The Right Body Wash For Your Skin Type

BEST BOTANTICAL BODY WASH FOR EVERY SKIN TYPE

Spring is in the air in New Zealand, and while the fall season is just beginning to make the leaves change color where I’m writing from, the idea of springtime has me in the mood to give my skin a refresh. To keep with the season’s theme of renewal, it’s time to scrape away the layers of dry skin and reveal the most glowing, healthy version of myself.

I plan to do so by shopping all-natural, botanical-based products that are as fresh as the flowers in bloom all over New Zealand right now. I spend so much of my time focused on my facial skincare routine, but the rest of my body could use a reboot, too, so I’ve rounded up some of the most soothing natural products to get my skin as good as new this season.

The shower is a great place for my renewal process to begin. See some of the products that will help me lather my way to a better bod, depending on what my body is needing i.e. if I’m feeling dry, etc.

For Sensitive Skin: Lqd Body Wash

I’ll definitely be using Australian brand Lqd’s first-ever unisex body wash to smooth, hydrated and toned. The coffee Arabica seed extract in this product will help keep your skin firmed and youthful-looking while some of the other ingredients such as aloe vera and avocado oil work to keep you moisturized long after your shower is over.

Thanks to a media kit I received, I’ve been using the product for a couple of weeks now, and I can’t rave enough about how soft and smooth I feel post-shower thanks to this incredible, clean product!

For Acne-Prone Skin: Mario Badescu AHA Botanical Body Soap

Mario Badescu’s brand of skincare items is incredible, so if you’re looking to expand your routine beyond just your facial concerns, I’d recommend putting the brand’s AHA Botanical Body Soap to the test. It’s filled with fresh papaya, grapefruit and ginseng extracts to calm the skin and even has oat protein to soothe the most sensitive dry patches and more.

For Dry Skin: Sukin Botanical Body Wash

Australian brand Sukin also has a gorgeous range of natural products that you won’t mind lathering up in this season. Their Botanical Body Wash won’t dry you out, and the soothing elements it contains, such as chamomile and aloe vera, will act as a toner to your entire body, calming redness and more to leave you looking absolutely flawless!

For Avoiding Razor Burn: Dr. Bronner Organic Shaving Soap

The shower’s about cleansing—sure—but you’ll want to make sure you’re not undermining your efforts for soft, supple skin by getting razor burn after a shave. That’s why I search for shaving soaps that are moisturizing, gentle and smell amazing—like Dr. Bronner’s Lavender Organic Shaving Soap when I’m shaving my legs and underarms. Then, my sensitive skin will stay perfect in-tact even post shave.

For Irritated Skin: Herbivore Botanicals Bamboo Charcoal Bar Soap

Activated charcoal can do wonders for the skin by detoxifying pores, so you may want to give yourself a good scrub with this stuff to really give your body a deep cleaning. I really like to use something this purifying after a long workout. A yoga session and a cleansing with charcoal will surely leave you feeling rejuvenated.

For A Tense Body: Mullein & Sparrow Lavender Body Oil

And if you’re more of a bath person, you can surely do some double-duty goodness for your skin by pairing any of these body washes along with a few drops of Mullein & Sparrow’s French Lavender Body Oil in your bath water. That way, you’ll get in a good soak while also relaxing your muscles and moisturizing from head to toe. Before completely drying off, you can also use a few drops of this luxurious oil in lieu of lotion to keep your skin feeling smooth long after your mini-spa session has come to an end.
