My Hair Routine | LA-based Model Christina Cooper

Our friend and gorgeous LA-based model Christina COOPER, gives us the low-down on how she cares for her curls and styles it on a daily basis.

ย

My hair is really curly and it can naturally get coarse fast, so I moisturise, moisturise, and moisturise! In the morning, I dampen my hair with cool water (to prevent frizz) and I apply a quarter size amount of the Shea Moisture Curl and Style Milk to my hair. Every time I use this, I get compliments on how good my hair smells and how soft it feels. I would definitely recommend it to my curly-haired sisters. If it's a hot and humid day, I'll put some Kinky Curly Custard and Organix Argan/Moroccan Oil conditioner. This helps eliminate some of the frizz that can occur throughout the day. Lastly, I apply coconut oil to the tips of my hair and always scrunch upwards. After that, I just let my hair air dry.

I wash my hair only every few days. It sounds crazy but because it is curly, I need to retain as much moisture as I can. Shampooing every night would definitely dry it out. If I don't wash it, I'll just give myself a quick scalp massage to get the blood flowing and tie my hair. When I do wash my hair, I will use the Organix Argan/Moroccan oil shampoo and conditioner. Then I let it dry and apply coconut oil to the ends of my hair. Sometimes, I'll braid it, as it is a form of protective styling and can actually help hair growth and prevent breakage.
