The Baroque Influence | Harman Grubisa's NZFW AW 17 Show

'ROCOCO' BY HARMAN GRUBISA AT NEW ZEALAND FASHION WEEK

Harman Grubiša’s Autumn/Winter ’17 Collection, Rococo, kicked off New Zealand Fashion Week last night and ladies, Whitney would have been proud.

Models walked with purpose and poise down the gold-lacquered runway in high-shine metallic, full-bodied satins and a signature brocade, all while Houston’s greatest hits reverberated in the background.

The makeup, which was led by M.A.C Cosmetics Senior artist Kiekie Sanners, emulated the clothes decadence and attention to detail. Gold liquid eyeliner, sky high cheekbones, and a glossy burgundy lip that was an accessory in itself.

Matt Benns  of Stephen Marr created timeless brushed-out curls for the hair which was carefully tucked behind the models ear to ensure no face went unnoticed.

In a year when dressing down is often celebrated and looking underdone is considered “cool”, it was a welcome change to see a show which celebrated everything we love about being women: bold lips, accentuated cheekbones, soft skin and brushed-out curls that bounce to the beat of our well-heeled step.
