LOVE THY CURLS | HOW-TO

Give us fuss-free, undone hair over boring poker straight hair, any day!
Lately, we are all about embracing natural textures and fluffy frizzes.
We’ve been taking  hair cues from cool girls such as Imaan Hammam, Cleo Wade and Nirvana Naves. Hair fashion is seeing much more of texture than pretty perfect waves this season.

Hair Stylist Benjamin James showed us how to add beautiful texture and curls, sans pesky irons or tongs; just a nod to ’90s Gwen Stefani and some pin curl clips.

Ben step-by-step guide to undone curls :

1.
Start with freshly washed, damp hair.

Spritz R+Co One prep spray throughout the hair, followed by layering R+Co Rockaway salt spray.

2.
Paddle brush dry on a low heat and low speed and be careful not to smooth and flatten the hair cuticle.

3.
Taking roughly two inches square sections, lightly dampen with another layer of R+Co Rockaway and brush through with a brush (boar bristle Mason Pearson used here).

4.
Twist a section to create tension and coil onto the head. Clip with a pin curl clip. Be sure to leave the ends out for a more youthful look. Continue this throughout the head.

5.
Apply defused heat to the coiled section to help the bonds form this shape.
Let it cool.

6.
Once cooled, remove the clips and uncoil. Turn head upside down and shake out sections together. Apply R+Co Tinsel to define and add shine.

And we love it! Do you?
