Spring is the perfect time to add a little direction to your make-up, and we finally have a reason to dress up as the social calendar starts to fill in!

Coloured eyeshadows are making a comeback, (in a major way) we have been seeing them pop up on the runways, covers of magazines and on Solagne Knowles.

And have you seen the recent cover of Vogue Russia shot by Patrick Demarchelier? Coloured shadows are basically ruling in every shape and form in this shoot.

When it comes to the shade, pigmented purple has been embraced by many beauty brands this season. We have spotted some of our favourites at Tom Ford, L'Oreal Paris, YSL and Bobbi Brown. Purple is relatively easy colour to work with, as it complements various skin tones. It tells a story and can find its way on the lips, eyes, and even cheeks...

For our version of purple haze-inspired eye make-up, we prepped the eye with a mixture of MAC Paintpots Indianwood and Let’s Skate. Her eyes were our pièce de résistance was the Bobbi Brown gel liner in Union Jack shade.  We played around with placement as well, applying most of the depth in the inner corner of the eye where you would usually place the lightest colours.
