How To | Undone Side-Swept Waves

How To | Undone Side-Swept Waves

Sometimes all you need is a little inspiration and product secrets from a rad stylist.

It’s that time of year where we are working harder, socialising more and (still) trying to also get that summer bod! Our hair can be the last thing on our mind. We want effortless wavy hair without the effort. Yup. There is one hairstyle that can take us from work to an event and all we need to do is add a bit of detail.

Follow these easy guidelines by senior hair stylist Talei Lepper  to make sure you have it all covered for your summer weddings and party season :

1. Foundation is KEY

Start by prepping your hair with a good volumising mousse at the roots on dry hair (we used Kérastase Volumifique Mousse here and highly recommend it!). Followed by spraying it with Kérastase Volume Expansion Spray thru mid-lengths and ends. Comb and blast dry.

Hot tip: Turn your head upside down while drying for that extra body.

2. Now, it's time to lightly curl

Using GHD Curve curling wand take vertical section of hair and flat wrap around the wand wrapping away from your face leaving out the very ends. Repeat throughout.

3. Add the texture and hold

Comb through using a wide-tooth comb or your fingers. Add L’Oreal Tecni Art-Super Dust Texture Powder at your roots and ends for added oomp flick one side behind your ear.

4. Add a braid (optional)

To take you into the eve add a plait through the back for a fun feel or hair accessories for a point of difference. Add a little more L'Oreal Paris Tecni Super Dust through the ends, and this transition to night look will only take 5 minutes!
