To celebrate TOM FORD Beauty's recent arrival in New Zealand, we’ve put ford's exquisite palettes to the test with a shoot.
As the man credited with revolutionizing the way modern women dress, it’s safe to say that Tom Ford knows a thing or two about style. Just one year after his appointment as Creative Director of Gucci in 1994, the then-sleepy fashion house saw sales skyrocket by 90%, bewitching many a fashion editor and earning him the title of “the most directional designer in Milan,” by the New York Times.
Fast-forward to 2016, following the success of his own eponymous luxury fashion label, two critically-acclaimed feature films and an instant cult-classic lipstick has led to the rollout of an entire cosmetics line for the Tom Ford house, shot by SAUCE alongside new key products.
With the starting point of flawless skin, Ford’s line celebrates the art of putting on make-up through his own old-world-inspired philosophies: Never do make-up on the run; Always use colour for the evening; Contouring is key.
“Everything about the Tom Ford world is perfect,” said make-up maven Charlotte Tilbury, who helped Ford create the initial line, “and that includes perfect, glowing skin.” The range covers traceless liquid foundations, curated eyeshadow palettes, blushers, powders, kohl pencils, nail colours, lip glosses and lipsticks that draw from Ford’s own exacting attention-to-detail.
