My first thought after leaving Kate Sylvester’s show was I’ve never wanted to wear a lilac two-piece more than I do now! Also, thanks to Kate Sylvester for highlighting the importance of tonal dressing, strong silhouettes, berets and bringing back the embroidered handkerchiefs. The discovery of Kate’s parents love letters from the 50s gave us so much romance and so many letters down the runway. So beautiful. Kate’s show was one of the chicest nights of NZFW. As for the beauty looks : Kiekie Stanners for M.A.C created 1950’s minimalistic, elevated beauty inspired by Kate’s Mum on her wedding day with a velvet matte pop on the tip; for hair, romantic knotted twist created by Sean Mahoney using Cloud Nine and Evo. Photographed by Luke Foley-Martin for Sauce.
