Aleph Beauty - All-in-one foundation and concealer

This new New Zealand based brand has just launched an all-in-one foundation, concealer, multi-use highligher and blush. The natural, organic and vegan products come in a small pot (very chic packaging), with a moose like consistency. The foundation is designed to be a full coverage concealer, a medium coverage foundation with a light veil. We love the simplistic packaging and the product blends really well into your skin, with four shades to colour match.
Aleph beauty products are ethical, natural, cruelty free and people and planet friendly. The packaging is travel friendly too!

Good for : Anyone looking for a natural makeup brand with high quality ingredients. 6/10 for the all-in-one foundation, retails at $60 a pot.

Note : A really exciting range and beautiful product but the brand needs to include more shades for deeper skin tones.

Comb Manuka Honey Hair Oil

According to Comb—Honey is a natural humectant, which means that it attracts and traps moisture, and honey has a natural ability to hold on to water, so it’s no surprise why this is the super ingredient found in Combs Manuka honey hair oil. Once again, we love the super chic packaging and the natural scent is just to die for and the product doesn’t sit heavy in your hair. Uh huh, honey!

Good for : Daily maintenance towards dry, damaged hair. 9/10 based on product packaging, scent and high-quality ingredients. Also, value for money, $68 bottle will go a long way!

Dermalogica Prisma Protect SPF30

This light-activated moisturiser prevents future visible signs of skin damage while providing a broad-spectrum defence. It contains intelligent drone technology to help boost skins natural luminosity, antioxidant technology to protect against pollution and an SPF 30 for the ultimate defence against UV damage. A great UV protector and daily moisturiser.

Good for : Anyone that spends a lot of time in front of a screen. 9.5/10 for multi-use. Retails at $119 for 50ml.

Monastery Hyaluronic Gel from SLOW Queenstown

Self-proclaimed “the best plant-based gel moisturiser there is.” This product is made from hyaluronic acid and holds 1000x its weight in water. Hydration much? This gel is easily absorbed into the skin and contains aloe and clary sage to restore and rebuild damaged surface cells. This product is so versatile you can apply it after cleansing, under or over makeup. We can’t get enough of it.

Good for : Dehydrated skin type that can benefit from the hyaluronic molecules in the plant-based gel. 9/10 for plant-based high quality ingredients. $149 for 50ml pump bottle.

Elemis Veggie Mask from MECCA

Say goodbye to dullness and dryness with the Elemis Veggie Mask. Featuring Vitamin C and Passionfruit acids to help remove dead skin cells, giving you brighter skin and also featuring chia seed oil, avocado, kale, wheatgrass, amino acids and nettle extracts, it’s not called a veggie mask for no reason! The mask smells like a delish green smoothie too!

Good for : Daily skin prep morning or night. 7/10 for daily use and scent. Retails at $60.

Juno Superfood Facial Oil by Sunday Riley from MECCA

Soon as Juno arrived on the market, it made it to the must-haves list of every beauty aficionado. We know why. This oil is high in antioxidants, vitamin C, essential amino acids, omegas 3, 6, and 9 (to protect against anti-ageing and UV exposure.) Juno helps calm dry sensitive skin and provide replenishment for eczema-prone skin during this chilly season. This product is also free of essential oils (fragrances) so it is suitable for anyone with extremely dry and sensitive skin. A noteworthy product we cannot stop talking about around Sauce HQ!

Good for : Extremely dry sensitive skin with eczema. 10/10 for hydration and protection. $124 for 35ml pump bottle.

Aesop Facial Cleansing Milk

We love this milky, milky, gentle facial cleanser, with the key ingredients being Panthenol, grape seed and sandalwood. Made for daily use, this product removes makeup effortlessly and leaves your skin feeling soft and refreshed. Did we mention, we love the packaging on this baby too!

Good for : All skin types. Anyone that prefers a milk based cleanser instead of oil-based. 9/10 for quality of product, packaging and removing make-up easily. $45 for 100ml and $70 for 200ml.

Note : This product has not been tested on water-proof mascara.

Shiseido Controlledchaos Mascaraink

Hold the phone! These beauties are made to party. With three new hip colours—violet, sapphire and emerald— the formula makes your lashes super long and the colour makes your eyes POP! The colour goes on quite bright at first but after the formula sets, the mascara blends into your lashes more, giving it a subtle hint of colour.

Good for : Lengthening your lashes and providing a hint of colour. 8/10 for lengthening and longevity. $61, available in Emerald, Sapphire, Voilet, Rush and Black.

Note : The pigments in the mascaras seem to fade after a couple of hours.
