3 New Zealand beauty brands we can't stop talking about
Natural skincare is a must-have in my books. Your skin absorbs about 70% of what is applied on to its surface. It’s important to be mindful about what we are putting into our bodies, with regards to food and drink so why wouldn’t we want to make sure that we are not polluting our skin with harmful chemicals also?
Luckily for us, New Zealand is home to some of the best natural skincare brands, promising to make your skin shine bright like a diamond, all while being free from nasties.
We have rounded up three brands that we are absolutely LOVING right now and we are so excited to share them with you!
1. Sans [Ceuticals]
SANS stands for, Seasonable, Active, Natural and Sustainable.
This natural skincare and haircare brand focuses on all four of these factors by creating products based on your skin and hairs needs while looking at seasonal factors, as each change in climate and environment effects your hair and skin in different ways.
Their products are made from 100% naturally derived pure, sustainable and biodegradable ingredients with no harmful additives and their products are all packaged in 100% recyclable packaging. Not to mention, their packaging’s minimal and chic look will make your bathroom counter look super fab.
Their autumn haircare range is packed full of essential vitamins to help combat the damage Summer months have done to your hair with sun, salt water and chlorine.
Available here, $50 Moisture & Protein Infusion for 50ml, $38 Volumising Hair Wash for 250ml, $40 for Volumising Hair Hydratant for 250ml.
Plantae is a certified fully organic and plant-based skin care range is bought to you from sunny Nelson, they are all about providing your skin with the best care possible, while protecting the environment too. Focusing strongly on keeping their ecological footprint as minimal as possible, they are always looking at new ways to reduce their waste, while creating these beautiful products for our skin.
Their products come in oils, moisturisers, gels, creams and toners, with ingredients such as avocado, rosehip, pomegranate, watercress, thyme and lavender.
I actually use the Bergamot orange cleansing milk at night to cleanse and I love the way it has a really subtle orange scent to it and it leaves my skin feeling super soft and glow-y. Editor Zeenat Wilkinson highly rates the facial cleanser gel and the spritz.
Available here, Cleansing Milk $39 for 100g, Ivy Cleansing Gel $34.90 for 100g and Bitter Orange Blossom Spritz $32.90 for 100g.
3. Girl Undiscovered
Girl Undiscovered is another glow-worthy range of natural skincare products we can get behind, where they have taken a step further from the usual “organic” ingredients and sourced the best wild local and international ingredients to put into their products. Girl Undiscovered is also all about ethical trade, they have travelled all around the world to see first hand where their ingredients have been sourced, handled, produced and packaged.
Some of the ingredients you can find in their products are Thanaka—a super food sourced from Mayanmar, Balinese pure virgin coconut oil and New Zealand Kaunka honey and all of their products are free from parabens, phenoxyethanol, petrochemicals and synthetic fragrances. We like the sound of that!
A must-have :
Stumbled Across Paradise face mask! It helps draw out impurities, reduce redness and gently exfoliate. Editor Zeenat swears by this product as her all-time top shelf product.
Available here, $45 Stumbled Across Paradise facemask for 120ml.
