We Put Bobbi Brown's New Foundation To A 16 Hour Test!

The Cult New Foundation That Everyone Is Talking About!

The experts at Bobbi Brown claim the new Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation can last upto 16 hours with no creasing, caking and zero cracks! It looks exactly the same after 16 hours of wear from its first application.

So when Jess from the brand’s PR team asked if I wanted to trial their new foundation and document its longevity, I knew the best way to test their claim was on my own skin. My face is like the Bermuda triangle; this is where all foundations, mascaras and lipsticks disappear within an hour of its application. And if it did pass the test, would I end up looking more Curella de Vil? It was time to find out.

THE FORMULA AND TEXTURE:

Marine sugar cane and natural mineral powders with emollients (vitamin E and shea butter) are some of the oil-control agents in this foundation. It feels like a hydrating layer that floats on rather than seeping into the skin. This innovative high-speed cold-fusion process allows the formula to be breathable and lightweight. It's a medium to high coverage foundation.

THE VERDICT:

Hallelujah! My miracle foundation has arrived.
It's extremely hard for me to find a foundation that matches my skin tone without making me look grey. This foundation is foolproof -- the texture, coverage and colour match is so spot on. We’re talking luminous skin with a beautiful satin finish. I highly recommend pairing it with Bobbi Brown’s Extra Illuminating Moisture Balm (in Golden Glow) underneath. It’s an illuminator, moisturiser, and primer all in one, and works really well with this foundation.

Clocking in 16 shades to cover yellow, pink, natural, and golden undertones. As much as I love natural skin and a sun-kissed natural glow, whom am I kidding? I can never say no to a mid-week wine. And I do my best work really late at night. So yes, I need this foundation.

As for documenting the 16-hour wear...

I started my day at 7am (foundation on), followed by two events, salon appointment, another meeting in the afternoon and ended my day with two wines and a kimchi-inspired meal at The Kimchi Project. I got home at 9pm (foundation off), clocking in 15 hours wear!

This foundation means business. Apart from a quick powder touch-up using Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder (in Soft Honey 8) on my t-zone. It looked just like my natural skin, but so much better.

A breakdown of my makeup :

Skin : prepped with MAC Lightful Marine-Bright Softening Lotion, followed by Bobbi Brown’s Extra Illuminating Moisture Balm (in Golden Glow) and a SPF cream (50+).

Foundation : Bobbi Brown's Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF 15 (in Honey 5) all over my face using a foundation brush. MAC Bronzer used for contouring and shape. Finished with Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder in Soft Honey 8 and MAC Fix Plus

Eyes : I used MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Groundwork and Red Brick eyeshadow.

Lips : MAC Chicory lip pencil with Retro A17 lipstick for #MLBB look.
