Products Under <$32, Loved By Makeup Artists
Good skincare or makeup doesn’t need to be expensive. There we said it (!) and we stand by this statement.
1. Contains products worth $32 or under.
2. Products recommended by makeup artists
3. Is by no means an exhaustive list
Make up Artist Gray Galloway - Weleda skin food, $13.90
Pick up a tube for $23 and put it on (almost) all your problems. I love using Weleda Skin Food ($13.90) on any dry patches, it sorta smoothes and hydrates the area so makeup sits really lovely on top! It’s also magic as a face and body highlight, an all over dewy base or on a pointed Q-tip to clean up any little mistakes like an uneven lip liner.
MAKEUP ARTIST KATH GOULD - RIMMEL GLAM EYES LIQUID EYELINER $15.50
I love Rimmel Glam Eyes Liquid Eyeliner (15.50). The applicator has a super-fine tip so great to get between the lashes for a ‘invisible’ liner or to great the perfect wing. It’s really long lasting but not waterproof so doesn’t take forever to remove.
MAKEUP ARTIST ANGELA STEWART - TRILOGY EVERYTHING BALM $27.99
Trilogy Everything Balm 45ml ($27.99) - As the name suggests this cult product is like a beauty junkies Swiss Army knife. I LOVE a good multi use product, especially one that’s jam packed with natural ingredients. Rosehip oil, coconut oil, sweet almond oil.. all the goodies. This little beauty solves everything from chapped lips to nourishing those pesky dry cuticles. It also doubles as a super quick glossy highlighter on your cheekbones. I keep one just about everywhere, from my kit to my car.
EX-MAKEUP ARTIST PAIGE BEST - L'OREAL BLACK GEL LINER, $31.99
Okay my absolute favourite product would be NYX butter gloss ($12.95) in angel food cake shade.
It is $12 from farmers and my go to gloss for myself and every client I have ( I think i have about 4 in my makeup kit haha.) The reason i love this gloss so much is because it feels like shea butter on the lips. Super hydrating, has a beautiful pigment payoff - not to strong but not to light and just melts into the lips. It lasts for 3-4 hours but never leaves a white film on your lips once it has come off as some lipgloss's do , plus it is not sticky at all.
MAKEUP ARTIST FIONA CLARE GODDARd - mAYBELLINE MASTER PRIME ILLUMINATING PRIMER, 19.99
My latest discovery is a pretty amazing one that I think I very girl needs to know about. An affordable dupe for cult favourite MAC strobe cream - Maybelline Master Prime Illuminating Primer ($19.99). It has the exact same pearlescent finish and moisturising feel, even the scent is the same! It has become an absolute staple in my makeup bag for luminous skin.
