THINGS WE SAW AND LOVED AT EUGENIE
Day two of NZFW saw us taking a little vacay down memory lane as rising fashion star Eugénie presented a collection that championed independence, individuality and sisters doing it for themselves – an attitude reminiscent of the 90s.
Forget dainty or delicate, Eugénie designer Elizabeth Wilson favoured velvet slips, complex patterns and oversized accessories that were paired with powerful hair and makeup to create appropriately strong silhouettes. Wigs and berets, styled by Benjamin James of Ryder, gave us serious Bowie-vibes and with each model rocking their own personalized look we have never felt more inspired to let our freak flag fly. Kiekie Stanners of M.A.C Cosmetics wanted to continue the 90s street style aesthetic, using a colour palette of amber, burgundy and ochre to frame the eyes, accentuate the lips, but most importantly, not detract from the models’ personality.
