Here’s Why Glossier Products Are The Basis Of My Skincare Routine
If this starts to sound like a love letter to Glossier, it’s because it is. This brand has become a staple in my beauty routine, mainly because of its “skincare first, makeup second” approach. A product that’s doing good for my skin while making me look good—now that’s the ultimate goal, you know what I mean? And that’s exactly what Glossier items deliver.
I haven’t tried their full range of products, but I’m completely obsessed with the ones I have tested. They just launched a new face powder—called Wowder—so you better believe I’ll be getting my hands on that soon, too. Glossier also recently expanded to ship internationally, but New Zealand isn’t on the list of countries that can receive their products. Not yet, at least. But, that doesn’t mean that you can’t start compiling a must-have list because with the extreme popularity and cult following the brand’s developed, I can’t imagine Glossier won’t have global domination someday soon.
I’ll walk you through my daily Glossier routine and gush a little bit about each of the products I use on the regular. You’ll also get a sense of what these products look like IRL because these photos depict me rocking a full face of Glossier-only products.
Hopefully, you’ll get the chance to try them out for yourself and fall absolutely in love with them, just as I have. Because I’m telling you—these items are just as good as you imagine them to be.
Milky Jelly Facial Cleanser: This cleanser is great for sensitive skin. It’s not harsh, it removes makeup and it has a light rose scent. It’s a great start to my day. I’m a huge fan of the “Wake up, Glossier, Repeat” method.
Soothing Face Mist: Following a face wash, I love to make sure my skin is hydrated by spritzing the rosewater face mist. It’ll feel great on and work to even complexion. Score!
Priming Moisturizer: Before applying makeup, I use the priming moisturizer to make sure my skin isn’t too dry and is prepped for layering products. This stuff makes your skin feel so incredibly soft. It’s almost unreal.
Stretch Concealer: Once my face is moisturized, I go in under my eyes with the Stretch Concealer in Light. I’ll also use it to cover any blemishes or imperfections.
Perfecting Skin Tint: Next up—the ultra lightweight coverage. I use both shades Light and Medium to give my face a flawless finish, without a caked-on feel that some pore-clogging, heavy products can bring. This is definitely a product for someone who likes lightweight, buildable coverage as opposed to full coverage. It’s meant to let your natural self shine! I personally love that it doesn’t hide my freckles.
Boy Brow: My beauty routine just isn’t complete until I’ve slicked on some Boy Brow. Even if I’m rocking a minimal makeup look, I still swipe this across my brows to complete my look. It’s good for making sure every hair stays in place, without looking like you painted your brow line on, you know what I mean?
Balm Dotcom: Last, but not least, I like to add a glossy, yet moisturizing finish to my pout. You can also use this as a highlighter by adding a bit to the tops of your cheekbones or rock a glossy eye look by swiping right across your lids. I’m a fan of their original and Coconut flavors. Buy one to keep in your medicine cabinet and one for your bag because you never know when you’ll need an extra dose of moisturization.
Milky Jelly Facial Cleanser: Because the Milky Jelly Cleanser is so gentle, it’s totally fine for me to use multiple times a day. Morning, night and even post-workout if need be. It’s a great way to remove makeup before bedtime.
Soothing Face Mist: Again, I follow up with the mist because you just can’t beat adding a touch of rosewater to a fresh, clean face.
Super Pure Serum: Once my makeup’s removed, I use three-four drops of the Super Pure Serum and gently apply it to my entire face. With Vitamin B3 and Zinc, it works to keep blemishes at bay, clear out pores and overall makes my skin look brighter and feel oh-so smooth.
Mega Green Galaxy Pack: This soothing clay mask is great for anytime of the day. Use it while you take a bath at night or slather it on before fixing your coffee. Trust me—I’ve tried both ways, and there’s really no going wrong.
Pink Pouches: Every Glossier order comes with at least one of their super cute pink pouches. They’re also available for purchase individually, and boy, oh boy do they come in handy. I stuff my toiletries in them whenever I go on vacation, keep a couple in my beach bag, use them as a way to “wrap” gifts at Christmastime—the list goes on and on. And the best part is, you’ll expand your collection each and every time you shop from Glossier…which is precisely why I’ve got at least 15 stored up at the moment. It’s so easy to become a Glossier hoarder.
If you couldn’t tell—I’m a huge fan of this brand, and when you get the chance to try it out for yourself, I’m sure you will be, too!
