Inspired by celebrated kiwi born artist Frances Hodgkins (who I’m very much a fan of!) Kate Sylvester teamed up with Te Papa to present stunning 1920’s textile fabrics created by Hodgkins herself for her stunning Winter collection. Paying homage to the artist meant drapery-themed silhouettes, a nod to decade age style and free for all colours.
Paired with fresh makeup looks and hair partly covered by scarfs, the classicism of this show was reminiscent of art to say the least with models walking around with Jonathan Bree’s live music at the show. The colours, prints and silhouettes from this collection are to die for.
Here are some of our favourite looks from Kate Sylvester Winter 19 for you to soak it all in.
