Spring gets us in a mood
A mood indulgent of fresh inspiration and exciting seasonal transitions that aren’t limited to the weather. For style, this season blossoms with the anticipation of loud patterns, sights of colour and all kinds of bold beauty behaviour (with a touch of SPF of course). The embodiment of this season is no doubt women, specifically two women in our spring editorial - Tahirih Latu and Chrissy Soropa.
TAHIRIH LATU AND CHRISSY SOROPA
Tahirih Latu, 21 is a rising model who displays her unique sense of cultural pride during the everyday and in her spare moments, manages to spend time with her friends enjoying new experiences. She shared this stunning morning with Chrissy Soropa, 24, another beautiful soul determined to establish her presence in the industry and one who actively spends her free time hiking or seeking out new films. Both were captured for Sauce by the talented photographer Luke Foley Martin to present the oncoming new wave of fresh style and organic beauty.
Tahirih: Being able to see the flowers finally blossom and not having to wear layers. As well as having longer days so we can do more during the day!
Chrissy: Summer and spring gives me a new found hope for the second half of the year. I feel motivated to tackle any remaining goals I have and make new ones that will see me through into the season. I feel happier due to the warm weather and it's also an opportunity for me to enjoy the outdoors a little more.
Tahirih: Very natural simple, bronzy look with a colourful eye. I don’t like to wear too much makeup because of the heat.
Chrissy: A natural glow makeup look will always be my favourite summer look. Adding a little bronzer to my skin makes it look fresh and vibrant. For any special occasions or events, I love a vibrant eye shadow or smokey eye with a winged eye liner, or a bold lip.
ON THE PERFECT SUMMER DAY
Tahirih: Going on road trips to a new place for sure! Everything looks beautiful on a sunny day. Or simply being outside in the shade with some vegan food and music.
Chrissy: My favourite way to spend an average summer's day would be with friends or family, venturing to a new beach or new hiking trail as I live in West Auckland not too far from Waitakere Rangers! Afterwards, coming home and having a bbq in our front yard well into the night with summer jams playing in the background.
