Four Beauty Looks To Try This Winter

A little bit of Debbie Harry with the coolness of Kate Moss...

If there has ever been a time to play around with bold make-up trends, it is now. Over the last month, the Sauce beauty cabinet has seen an influx of cool-toned eye-shadows, bright liners, bold lipsticks, and even silvery-blue highlighters. Naturally, this was a hot topic of conversation at our editorial meeting and we decided to create four editorial beauty looks using our favourite products for the season.

As for our model, Gemma Walsh, her natural freckles and undone hair perfectly suited the four bold make-up looks created by make-up artist Chay Roberts for this shoot. Think afternoon-rosé-turned-dinner-turned-more rosé-turned-dancing til 3am.

Key products used :
Eyes: Revlon Photo Ready Eye Art-120 Midnight Glitz, Elizabeth Arden Lasting Impression mascara throughout.
Cheeks: Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate—01.
LipsToo Faced Liquified Long Wear Lipstick Melted Chocolate from Mecca.

Application tips  :
Map the edges for the eyeliner shape by applying the Midnight Glitz (navy colour) while the eye is open. Fill in the shape when you have symmetrical shapes on both sides. Layer the eyeliner shape with glitter, using the applicator on the other end of the Midnight Glitz stick. We layered the Tom Ford lip lacquer on top so that when the light hits in, the liner has extra sparkle and dimension.

Same as above with a change of lip colour, using Tom Ford Lip Lacquer.

Key products used :

Brow: Elizabeth Arden Brow Defining Gel in Deep Brown.
Eyes: The Body Shop Eyeshadow— 105 Giza Stone.
Cheeks: M.A.C Bronzer and Elizabeth Arden Little Black Compact (Gold shimmer).
LipsEstée Lauder Pure Color Love lipstick in Radical Chic and High Voltage.

Application tips:
Give the skin a golden glow and dimension by softly brushing the M.A.C Bronzer just below the cheekbone. On the highest part of the check bone, lightly dust a small amount of the ‘white gold shimmer’ from the Elizabeth Arden Little Black Compact Palette. The lips have two shades of Estée Lauder Pure Color Love lipstick layered on top of the M.A.C Process Magenta liner. (pro tip : The Estée Lauder Pure Color lipsticks are great for colder months with ingredients that help smoothen lips and renew moisture).

Key products used :
Eyes: The Body Shop Colours: Tulum Turquoise and Purple TopazM.A.C Eye pencil Feline and M.A.C Orange, Swiss chocolate and Green Glitter.
Cheeks: Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate—01.
Lips: Tom Ford Lip Laquer.

Application tips:
Use the M.A.C Feline eye pencil to create a base and establish the shape and size of the eye makeup look. Soften the edge of the shape and contour the eyes with The Body Shop colours. Use the M.A.C eyeliner mixing medium to adhere the Green Glitter to the eyelid but ensure that you leave enough of the contour or ‘transition’ shadows.

Key products used for skin :

RMS Beauty Oil for hydration. Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation for the base. Tom Ford Skin Illuminator—Fire Lust for sheen.  M.A.C Studio Finish Concealer under eyes and Shiseido 7 Lights Powder Illuminator colour-correcting powder to set.
