GHD Unplugged

Navigating in the ‘world of stuff’ can be both exhausting and very expensive, here at Sauce, we decided to independently select and test products for honest reviews. So, on that nod to transparency, we’ve kept our review on the new GHD Unplugged Styler brief and informative, and we have listed pros and cons for you (our Saucettes) to decide for yourself if this product is right for you, or not.

The cordless styler is designed specifically to be used ‘on the go’: while travelling, after a long flight (one day when we can get back to travelling), before work drinks, and in every in-between situation when your hair might need some uplifting. Unplugged is small, ultralight, and comes in a chic heat-resistant case. You get 20 minutes of continuous styling, and you can plug it back into a wall outlet or with a USB-C port (same as the new iPhone chargers) and charge it back up to 100% in less than two hours.

PROS --

  • It gives you a sleek finish and great shine

  • Heats up in 45 seconds thoroughly to 185 degrees Celsius

  • It's tiny—22cm in length so it can easily fit into most purses and handbags.

  • You can use a USB-C port to easily charge it

  • You don't have to wait around for it to cool down; the clever heat-resistant case allows you to move quickly

  • 20 mins of powerful, continuous heat for styling

CONS --

  • If you require more than 20 mins to do your hair, you might need to consider this as a touch-up tool rather than your main styler

  • Price tag of $510

  • Only has one heat setting of 185 degrees Celsius

  • Cannot be used while charging (2 hours charge time)

My verdict :

I personally love a product that gives me the freedom to style my hair on the go. This is going to be incredible to have around once travel opens up in New Zealand. The Unplugged is a powerful styler. It is easy, uncomplicated, and did we mention its cordless?

Over to you, Saucettes.
