This is everything I don’t know about grief

I never knew death before my twenties. I’d never lost anyone before then. I think I started to believe that death as a concept was something stigmatised. The burden of representation is real, and a heavy one at that

That baggage is so heavy that it effectively hinders your ability to perfect your craft and produce your art. I was lucky to grow up in a household where the news of the day was discussed openly and honestly. I knew how media spin works, and who decides which stories get airtime. At the same time, I fooled myself into believing that this issue shouldn’t be discussed because it’s ‘complicated’. I refuse to do this anymore.

Reality television, a moral dilemma

We binge. We binge-eat, we binge-drink, and we binge-watch. We inhale content without question—especially when it’s fiction hiding under the cloak of reality. And who’s to blame? The viewers, or the participants?
